SOPRO D'ÁGUA (BREATH OF WATER)
Sopro D'Água is a master degree in Arts: Dancing by Gabriela Holanda, who is a dancer and a close friend of mine.
I took part in her project photographing the creative process. She danced inside the river and the sea. After the photos her project was changed into a photo-performance.
Inspired by the Impressionists and an article from the neuroscientist Dr. Noel Dan, who claims that the Impressionist painters were short-sighted, I decided to use my own myopia to photograph the city I lived, Recife (Brazil). My aim was to provoke on people a different way of seeing the city and valuing the way we see things, not the way people say things are.
